Garlic is obtained from a perennial plant, a member of the lily family and closely related to the chives, onions, leeks and shallots. Garlic is indigenous to Central Asia. It is one of the most common spices and is popular in Central and South American, Indian, Chinese, Mediterranean, Mexican and Southeast Asian cuisines. Garlic has been used in medicines in India and China.

Garlic Granules are light cream to light beige in colour with bitter-sweet flavour and a strong pungent aroma. It can be substituted for fresh Garlic in recipes which require Garlic flavour without the fresh Garlic texture. Garlic Granules provide more bulk and thickening than ground Garlic.

Garlic Granules is ideal for savory dishes and works well in combination with most spices and herbs. Garlic Granules are used in breads, carrots, casseroles, curries, eggplant, green beans, marinades, meat, noodles, pastas, pizzas, poultry, roasts, salad dressings, sauces, stews, stir fries, soups, steaks, tomato dishes and yellow squash.

Garlic conversion: 1 fresh Garlic clove = 1/4 teaspoon of Garlic Granules
