A healthy, heart-warming intricate mixture of curry spices with an earthy, tart, tangy, spicy and fragrant finish, our Chickpea & Lentil Blend consists of 18 organic spices, all individually hand-roasted and stoneground.


Chickpea & Lentil Spice Blend, a traditional spice mix, is an ideal flavour base for Indian soul food, especially home cooked vegan food like dal (lentils), potato curry or spiced chickpea dishes such as Chana Masala (Indian-style chickpea curry). This is a mild and tangy, north Indian style dal spice blend to cook any lentils.


For a more contemporary take on this spice blend, use it to season yoghurt-based salad dressings and “Buddha Bowls” - heaped bowls of cooked chickpeas and colourful vegetables, drizzled with a healthy dressing and served atop quinoa or rice. As a seasoning, it adds a hearty boost of flavour to chunky soups, stews and Moroccan style dishes.


Mildly spicy to the taste (it’s less hot than Garam Masala, for example) it has a unique tang and bittersweet taste from Dried Mango powder (Amchur), making it an ideal chickpea spice mix. The lentil spice mix is sealed in an amber glass jar immediately after grinding to preserve its freshness and flavour.


Certified Organic Ingredients: Dried Mango Powder (Amchur), Cumin seed, Coriander seed, Fenugreek seed, Fennel seed, Black Pepper, Red Chilli, Turmeric, Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Sweet Paprika, Nutmeg, Ginger, Bay Leaf and Mace.
