SPICE ZEN HAUTE COUTURE TEA

Intoxicating, refreshing, fruity, delicate, smooth, floral and subtle sweetness that lingers on, this Darjeeling is a spring Grand cru.

This Darjeeling Orange Valley First Flush Black loose-leaf tea is sourced directly from the renowned certified organic Orange Valley Tea Estate, situated on top of the blue mountain (about 2,000 metres above sea level) near the Darjeeling town in West Bengal, India. With its 100 years old original small-leaved Chinese variety of bushes, this estate still uses the original old machines to maintain the authentic and exclusive Darjeeling character of the crop. Orange trees surrounding the Orange Valley estate is responsible for the tea's unique and sparkling flavour. It is harvested at the optimum stage and time to express the best character of the bush. This estate is known for its floral First Flush and muscatel Second Flush crops. The leaves are small mixed green with large silvery tips.

This fine delicate tea produces a bright golden liquor with a classic first flush character. It is a smooth, floral, fruity flavour with subtly sweet, honey afternotes. This perfect refresher with flavours of spring can be enjoyed anytime or as part of a high tea!

Brewing Instructions: Rinse the teapot with warm water. Use 1 heap teaspoon of tea leaves per cup, add water at 95 degrees Celsius and brew for 3 minutes. For best results, brew with fresh, filtered or pure water and without milk. Enjoy this rare gem!

Packaging: The loose-leaf tea is packed in a biodegradable liner. The liner is then packed in a premium paper tube that is food grade, fully biodegradable and recyclable.

As a tea professional for almost two decades, I was pleasantly humbled by recently trying Darjeeling Orange Valley First Flush Black Tea, as well as the entire new Specialty Tea Collection from Spice Zen. The experience of preparing and drinking the tea was second to none, taking into consideration its exceptional aroma and flavour persistence, despite adding hot water 3-4 times to the brew.
I would not hesitate to recommend trying this tea to all tea connoisseurs.
