Description
Botanical Name: Camellia sinensis
Oolong tea holds a treasured place in Chinese tea heritage, sitting gracefully between the green and black tea traditions. Unlike fully oxidised black teas or lightly processed green teas, Oolong undergoes a careful partial oxidation shaped by craftsmanship: withering, gentle bruising, controlled oxidation and rolling. These steps bring forward layers of aroma and a refined, mellow complexity.
Spice Zen’s Certified Organic Oolong Tea comes from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, one of the world’s oldest and most respected Oolong regions. Here, cool mist, rocky mineral-rich soils and centuries of artisan cultivation produce a style of Oolong known for its smoothness, balanced body and elegant aromatic warmth. The semi-oxidised leaves display deep brown and bronze tones, rolled into broad, twisted strands that unfurl slowly in the cup.
Upon infusion, the leaves release a clear amber liquor with gentle smokiness, soft nutty depth, subtle stone-fruit undertones and a grounded earthiness that lingers.
Hand-packed in small batches at our gluten-free Sydney facility, this Oolong is sealed in biodegradable, resealable stand-up paper green pouches with inner foil to preserve aroma, freshness and leaf integrity.
