Description
Description
Jaggery Powder is crafted by slow-cooking and dehydrating fresh sugarcane juice, allowing the natural molasses and minerals to remain within the crystals. Unlike refined white sugar, where the juice is clarified, stripped and crystallised, jaggery keeps its natural colour, aroma and inherent depth. Compared with rapadura sugar, which is spun at high speed, jaggery is cooked longer and left unspun, giving it a softer texture, deeper caramel notes and a more rounded, earthy sweetness.
Spice Zen’s Jaggery Powder is certified organic, unrefined and free from chemicals, bleaching agents or anti-caking additives, simply pure, naturally golden cane sweetness, packed in our premium black paper resealable pouch for pantry-perfect storage.
Flavour & Aroma Profile
Warm, mellow and gently caramelised with honeyed undertones, soft toffee notes and a natural molasses depth.
How Jaggery Differs from Sugar & Rapadura
White Sugar: fully refined, bleached and stripped of all molasses.
Rapadura Sugar: dehydrated cane juice but spun during production, resulting in drier, lighter crystals.
Jaggery Powder: slow-cooked and unspun; retains natural molasses, minerals, colour, aroma and deeper caramel warmth.
How to Use
-
Use 1:1 as a natural replacement for white or brown sugar.
-
Sweeten chai, coffee or herbal teas with ½–1 tsp per cup.
