Description
Botanical name: Piper nigrum
Spice Zen’s Certified Organic White Peppercorns are sourced from India and selected for their clean heat and aromatic depth. White pepper comes from the same fruit as black pepper, but the fully ripe berries are soaked in water so the dark outer skin can be removed. This produces a pale seed with a gentler aroma, a smoother flavour and a warmer but less complex heat profile.
White pepper is valued across many culinary traditions including French, Chinese, Vietnamese, Swedish and Indian cooking. Its warm earthy character blends easily into creamy sauces, soups, marinades and lighter coloured dishes where the darker flecks of black pepper are not desired. It brings a clean, steady heat without the sharp bite of black pepper and works especially well with eggs, potatoes, poultry and mild seafood.
We pack our white peppercorns in a biodegradable, resealable brown stand-up pouch with a protective inner lining to maintain freshness, aroma and natural volatile oils.

Nutrient Profile
White pepper naturally contains aromatic oils and plant compounds that contribute to its warm heat, earthy fragrance and gentle pungency. These naturally occurring components shape its flavour and aroma.
Wellness Note
White pepper has long been valued in Asian and European cooking for its warm fragrance and ability to enhance the flavour of mild or creamy dishes. It has been used traditionally in light soups, sauces and comforting home-style meals.
Traditional cultural context only, not a therapeutic claim.
