Description
Botanical Name: Cuminum cyminum
Across India, Persia, the Middle East and North Africa, cumin has long been celebrated for its warm, earthy aroma and rich savoury depth. When cumin seeds are gently dry roasted, their natural oils awaken, revealing a deeper, fuller and slightly smoky character that transforms everyday dishes.
At our gluten-free Sydney facility, certified organic cumin seeds are dry-roasted in a traditional roaster to develop their warm, nutty aroma, then stone-milled in small batches for a rustic, full-bodied texture. This process releases the natural essential oils, creating a spice that is significantly more aromatic and intense than standard ground cumin. Because of this potency, you’ll need much less than regular/ supermarket varieties. Once ground, the spice is sealed in recyclable amber glass to preserve its vibrant fragrance.
Dry-roasted ground cumin brings life to yoghurt dips, roasted vegetables, falafel, chickpeas, lentils, rice dishes, couscous, grilled meats, snacks and warm salads. Its aromatic warmth also pairs surprisingly well with fruit especially oranges, watermelon and grilled stone fruit.
