Roasted wattleseed is one of Australia’s most treasured native flavours, earthy, nutty and subtly chocolatey, with a gentle bitterness reminiscent of coffee and toasted hazelnuts. For thousands of years, Aboriginal communities crushed wattleseed to make nourishing “bush bread,” valuing its grounding, sustaining nature.
Spice Zen’s Roasted Wattleseed is sustainably harvested from Acacia victoriae, the elegant wattle native to Australia’s arid and temperate regions and the most prized edible variety. The roasted seeds are quality-checked and hand-packed in our gluten-free Sydney facility into recyclable amber jars to preserve freshness and flavour.
Its deep, roasted character shines in both sweet and savoury cooking: folded into breads, Anzac biscuits and cakes; stirred into porridge or yoghurt; blended into lattes; or added to rubs, marinades and spice mixes for a distinctly Australian twist.
