Nutmeg has been treasured since ancient times for its intoxicating warm, piney, sweet and nutty aroma and as a spice that evokes cosy kitchens, old-world baking and rich, luxurious sauces. Indigenous to the fabled Banda Islands of Indonesia, nutmeg and mace are uniquely born of the same fruit: nutmeg from the seed, mace from the crimson lacy covering that surrounds it.
Spice Zen’s Ground Nutmeg is made from certified organic nutmeg that is finely milled at origin, then quality checked and hand-packed at our gluten-free Sydney facility.
Beloved across Indian, Middle Eastern, European and American kitchens, ground nutmeg brings gentle spice to cakes, pastries and puddings; depth to béchamel, creamy soups and pasta; and warmth to vegetables, stews and beverages.
