Za’atar is one of the most beloved flavours of the Levant, a vibrant, aromatic seasoning that brings depth, brightness and character to dishes across the Middle East. It is the seasoning kept close at hand for sprinkling over bread, whisking into oil, finishing dips or adding savoury lift to everyday meals.
Spice Zen’s certified organic Za’atar is crafted in the Levantine tradition, blending bright sumac, warm herbs, lightly toasted sesame, cumin and black pepper to achieve the tangy, earthy and gently nutty profile that defines classic Za’atar. This blend contains no salt, allowing the true aroma and balance of the botanicals to shine and giving you complete control over seasoning in each dish.
Each ingredient is hand-toasted in small batches at our gluten-free Sydney facility, warmed just enough to release essential oils and natural fragrance before being gently blended to preserve texture. The result is an elevated, aromatic Za’atar that feels equally at home in heritage breads and modern bowls, from manoush and mezze to roasted vegetables, eggs, marinades and grain dishes.

Warm herbaceous depth with citrusy sumac tang, nutty sesame, earthy cumin and a gently toasted, savoury finish.
How to Use
• Mix 1–2 tbsp with olive oil and salt to taste for dipping bread or brushing over flatbreads before baking.
• Toss 1–2 tsp with olive oil and vegetables before roasting.
• Sprinkle ½–1 tsp over hummus, labneh or baba ganoush with a pinch of salt.
• Add 1 tsp to marinades with lemon and oil for chicken, lamb, fish or tofu.
• Finish eggs, salads or grain bowls with a light dusting just before serving.
