Description
Description
A warm, peppery elixir with the soul of the Nigella seed, smooth, aromatic, and beautifully free from bitterness.
Spice Zen’s Certified Organic Black Seed Oil is the only first cold-pressed, Australian made Nigella seed oil, freshly crafted in small batches in our certified organic, gluten-free Sydney facility. While most black seed oils are imported and often harsh or overly bitter, ours is pressed only once at low temperature from premium organic Nigella sativa seeds, ensuring the seed’s natural aromatic compounds shines through without the bitterness of its outer husk.
Each batch is slowly cold-pressed, rested naturally to settle by microgravity, and bottled in its purest virgin state, without chemicals, preservatives, or filtration. The result is a deep amber oil with rich, spicy aroma, layered with notes of oregano, pepper, and roasted nut - a sensory reflection of the true Nigella seed.
Thousands of Nigella seeds are required to produce a single tablespoon of pure first cold-pressed oil, a rarity that reflects the true value and depth of this ancient seed.
Native to South Asia, Africa, and the Mediterranean, Nigella (or black cumin) has long been honoured as a “seed of blessing.” Used in both ancient and modern culinary traditions, it carries a legacy of nourishment and ritual that transcends cultures, from Middle Eastern kitchens to Ayurvedic practices.
Flavour & Aroma Profile

Middle Notes: warm lightly toasted depth
