Spice Zen’s certified organic Chrysanthemum flowers are grown by certified organic farmers in the Chai Prakan District, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chrysanthemum blossoms from Thailand are smaller, more vibrant and with a pleasant aroma.

Chrysanthemum, native to East Asia and North-Eastern Europe, is used as a cooling herb in traditional medicine. It symbolises a myriad of things across cultures – life, hope, changing season, power, love and death. It is also considered the birth flower of November!

Chrysanthemum Tea is an infusion of dried blossom of the Chrysanthemum plant. This caffeine-free tea is transparent with a sweet, floral aroma, hint of warmth and varies in colour from pale to bright yellow.

In Chinese tradition, the flowers are placed in a teapot and steeped multiple times and consumed before focussing on a task, after a spicy meal or going to sleep due to its cooling and calming effect. In Thailand, this is very popular as a refreshing summer drink, served either hot or cold, with or without honey. It is popular for its natural healing properties, promoting eye health, improving hair and skin.

Brewing Instructions: Rinse the teapot with warm water. Use 1 heap teaspoon of tea leaves per cup, add water at 95 degrees Celsius and brew for 4-5 minutes. For best results, brew with fresh or pure water. Enjoy it hot or as an iced tea!

Packaging: The loose-leaf tea is packed in a biodegradable liner. The liner is then packed in a premium paper tube that is food grade, fully biodegradable and recyclable.
