Spice Zen’s cold pressed organic Walnut oil is made in house in Australia using certified organic, premium Walnuts in small batches. It has a beautiful golden colour oil with a delicate, creamy, mellow, natural walnut aroma.

Our first cold-pressed unrefined oil is made from raw organic walnuts, by cold-pressing them only once in a cork-screw oil press. The freshly pressed oil is rested to let any solid particles sediment by gravity and then bottled in its purest natural form with all its nutrients. The oil is produced without the use of any chemicals, preservatives, processing aids or harsh physical processes.

Cold pressed Walnut oil has been used for centuries and is traditional in French cuisine as a finishing oil. In ancient Greece and Europe, it was considered a symbol of fertility and offered to Gods and Egyptians would embalm their mummies. It was a painting oil of choice for Leonardo da Vinci, Monet, Rembrandt and other well-known painters.

Best used for low-temperature cooking and cold sauces, as a finishing oil, salad dressing, dips, soft cheese, flavouring oil for fish, steaks, ducks or sautéed green and starchy vegetables. Drizzle it on pasta, ice creams, cakes and desserts, oatmeal or to your cocktails. It has a smoke point of approximately 160 °C.

Walnut oil is known for its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties and supporting cognitive functions, heart health, regulating blood sugar, insomnia and immune system. It is a rich source of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
