Description
Description
Flaxseed Oil is prized for its smooth, mellow nutty flavour and naturally golden clarity. It is a delicate, versatile oil traditionally enjoyed in cold dishes for its gentle aroma and clean finish.
Spice Zen’s Certified Organic Flaxseed Oil is one of our most delicate artisan oils, pressed once only, slowly and at low temperature, in our certified organic, gluten-free Sydney facility. Flaxseed is a fragile seed with naturally high omega-3 content, requiring exceptional precision to press without heat or bitterness.
It takes approximately 4,000–6,000 flaxseeds to produce a single tablespoon of pure first-press oil, reflecting its rarity and the remarkable density of seeds required to achieve such freshness and clarity.
Following extraction, the oil is allowed to settle naturally by microgravity, preserving its aroma, structure and golden translucency. It is bottled unrefined and untouched by heat, bleaching or solvents.
Commercial flaxseed oils are often heat-extracted, deodorised or mechanically refined, processes that accelerate oxidation and dull the oil’s delicate natural aroma. Our minimal-intervention approach preserves flaxseed’s volatile aromatic compounds and gives the oil a naturally stable oxidative behaviour when handled correctly.

Across Middle Eastern and European cuisines, it is drizzled over vegetables, breads and rustic grains.

Within Nordic food traditions, it enhances cured fish, rye breads and hearty salads with its clean, mellow finish.
