A classic chai latte made the Spice Zen way, using milk, Spice Zen Masala Chai Spice Blend and Assam black tea, inspired by the everyday milky chai served across Indian homes and cafés. Gently simmered, this drink delivers warmth, depth and comfort with a smooth, rounded finish in every sip. Simple to prepare, it brings café-style richness into a quiet home ritual, suited to slow mornings or an afternoon pause.
Ingredients
Chai Base
-
1 cup milk (regular dairy milk, almond milk or plant-based milk)
-
1 tsp Spice Zen Masala Chai Spice Blend
-
1 tsp Spice Zen Assam Black Tea Blend (or 1 tea bag)
To Finish
-
Sweetener of choice, to taste
Directions
Pour the milk into a small pot and add the Spice Zen Masala Chai Spice Blend and tea.
Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 2–3 minutes, allowing the spices and tea to infuse fully.
Strain into a cup and froth if desired using a milk frother.
Sweeten to taste and serve warm.
Chef’s Notes
Keep the heat gentle once the milk comes to a boil to avoid scorching and maintain a smooth, creamy texture.
For a bolder chai, simmer for an extra minute or add a small pinch more spice blend.
Recipe Note
Iced Chai Latte
Prepare the chai as above using slightly less milk (¾ cup) for a stronger brew. Allow to cool, then pour over ice and top with an extra splash of cold milk. Sweeten to taste and serve chilled.
