Ingredients
Protein & Seasoning
-
350 g large king prawns, peeled and deveined
-
1 teaspoon Spice Zen Aussie Lemon Pepper
-
¼ teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
-
Garlic Lime Finish
-
1 tablespoon Spice Zen Sunflower Oil
-
3 garlic cloves, crushed
-
2½ tablespoons fresh lime juice
-
2 tablespoons fresh coriander, finely chopped
To Cook
-
Light oil spray
Directions
Lay the prawns on a plate and season evenly with the Aussie Lemon Pepper and sea salt.
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic, lime juice and most of the coriander. Set aside.
Preheat the barbecue hotplate to high heat and lightly spray with oil.
Place the prawns on the hotplate and cook for 1–2 minutes until lightly coloured.
Spoon over about three-quarters of the garlic lime mixture, turn the prawns, and cook for a further 1 minute until just opaque and cooked through.
Transfer to a plate, drizzle with the remaining mixture and scatter with the reserved coriander.
Chef’s Notes
Cook prawns just until opaque to keep them juicy and tender.
High heat ensures quick caramelisation without drying the flesh.
Recipe Note
No Barbecue: Use a hot cast iron pan on the stovetop.
Air Fryer: Cook at 200°C for 4–5 minutes, turning once halfway, until just opaque.
Heat Adjustment: Add a pinch of Spice Zen Cayenne Pepper if extra warmth is desired.
Serving Idea: Serve with a crisp green salad or grilled vegetables.
