Brown rice flakes are made by steaming, rolling and drying brown rice to form delicate flakes. It is a great Gluten Free alternative for homemade muesli, porridge, savoury dishes, baking, confectionery, in nutritious smoothies or yoghurts.

 

Spice Zen’s Brown Rice Flakes are made from 100% organic brown rice and are nutty and chewy in texture.

 

Brown rice flakes is a good source of carbohydrates, energy, fibre, minerals and vitamins.

 

Organic Ingredient: Brown Rice Flakes.

 

No added preservatives or flavourings. Suitable for Coeliacs and people with gluten intolerance.

 

Savoury porridge recipe: Soak 2 cups of brown rice flakes in water for 5 minutes and then drain the water. Take 1-2 tablespoon of ghee or oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves to fry lightly. Add 1.5 cups of finely chopped mixed vegetables of your choice (onion, potatoes, capsicum, zucchini, peas, green beans) and sauté it for 3-4 minutes. Add the soaked brown rice flakes, salt, Indian Chat Masala and stir gently for another 2-3 minutes. Garnish with lemon wedges, chopped coriander and roasted peanuts (omit for nut free). Enjoy!

 

Sweet pudding recipe: Lightly toast ½ cup of brown rice flakes in a pan with 1 tablespoon ghee/ oil over a low heat. Add 300 ml of milk of your choice. Let it simmer on low heat for 5-10 minutes. Top it up with milk for the desired consistency. Garnish with fruits and nuts.
